University Policies

The University of Mary Washington strives to adhere to best practices in the development and implementation of policies and procedures. Thus the format and essential elements of each University policy conform to the “Policy on Policies” approved by the UMW Rector and Board of Visitors.

Functional policies of the University are organized in the Policy Manual in BoardDocs, which is accessible to all constituents.  The University Policy Committee keeps the Manual up-to-date as new policies are developed and existing policies are revised or retired.
