All UMW Campuses Closed, Monday, Jan. 25

Due to inclement weather, all campuses at UMW will be closed on Monday, Jan. 25, including the Fredericksburg, Stafford and Dahlgren campuses. Day and evening classes and events will be canceled. Administrative and staff offices will be closed. The declaration of a snow emergency remains in effect until further notice; snow emergency parking regulations also remain in effect.

The basketball doubleheader against York College, originally rescheduled for Monday, Jan. 25, has been moved to Monday, February 1. The doubleheader against Frostburg College on Wednesday, Jan. 27 will be played as scheduled.

Please note the following openings and cancellations below:

The University Center Dining Hall is open today, Jan. 24,  for dinner from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.

The Fitness Center will be open Monday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please use caution when moving around the campus. Not all walkways will be cleared by 11 a.m. and it is possible that there will be only one walkway available from each residence hall to the University Center. Please select a safe pathway that is clear of ice.

The University Center and Fitness Center are the only buildings opening at this time. Snow clearing will continue throughout the day and other buildings will be evaluated for opening as the day progresses. Please watch email, the UMW webpage and social media for updates.

Cancellation:

 The Jefferson lecture scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 26 has been canceled.
