All UMW Campuses Closed, Monday, Feb. 15
All campuses at UMW will be closed on Monday, Feb. 15, including the Fredericksburg, Stafford and Dahlgren campuses. Day and evening classes and events will be canceled. Administrative and staff offices will be closed.
Dining Service is open as follows:
All retail closed with the exception of Blackstone Coffee, which will open at 10 a.m.; closing time TBD based on weather. Resident dining is open from 8-10 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. for lunch and 4-6 p.m. for dinner. Platforms opened will be determined by available staff.
Fitness Center Hours:
The fitness center will be open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. All group fitness classes, intramurals and club sports have been canceled.
Snow Emergency Declaration:
The University has declared a snow/ice emergency on the Fredericksburg campus today, Feb. 15, 2016. University Snow Emergency parking regulations will be in effect until Tuesday, Feb. 16. Please note that the Dahlgren and Stafford campuses are under a separate snow/ice management plan.
No vehicles are allowed to remain in Snow Emergency Areas today and tonight. Any vehicle on University property interfering with snow removal operations is subject to towing at any time during the snow emergency declaration. This includes any UMW assigned Service/Pool Vehicles for all departments and contractor vehicles that are not parked in approved locations on campus during the declaration. These vehicles will be moved to one of the University parking lots.
Note: No parking in the inbound and outbound lanes of Double Drive, Feb. 15, 2016.
Snow Emergency Areas include:
- All Faculty/Staff parking
- Commuter parking
- Top level of the Alvey Drive parking deck
- Top level of the Eagle Landing parking deck
- Double Drive and all driveways and roadways on campus
- Pizza Hut parking lot
- University Center lots
In the case of public events, the lot in use for the public event will be closed as soon as the event concludes.
All designated handicapped parking spaces, except those at Woodard Campus Center, and the University Center are exempt from Snow Emergency regulations. Facilities Services will ensure handicapped spaces remain accessible.
Lots will reopen at 7 a.m., Feb. 16, unless the University is declared closed or moves to a delayed opening. Under either of these conditions, all Snow Emergency areas will remain closed to parking until the University officially reopens.
The greater Fredericksburg area is under a winter storm warning with the potential for significant snowfall and freezing conditions within the next 24 hours. If you plan to travel, please consider the potential road conditions.
