9:30 a.m. Update to Campus
Power has been restored to the Fredericksburg campus, and classes will start at 11 a.m. as scheduled on Tuesday, Jan. 23. The overnight power outage impacted several buildings on the north end of campus, from the Cedric Rucker University Center to Jepson Science Center. Employees in these buildings may return to their offices and classrooms.
The Simpson Library parking lot continues to be closed today as repairs are made.

Continental Breakfast started at 7:30 a.m. in the Cedric Rucker University Center on first floor outside Chandler Ballroom. Lunch is planned for the Top of the Cedric Rucker University Center.
Stafford and Dahlgren Campuses remain open on normal operations.

6:30 a.m. Advisory to Campus
A power outage is impacting UMW’s Fredericksburg Campus this morning, Tuesday, Jan. 23. All classes on the Fredericksburg campus are canceled until 11 a.m. Classes before 11 a.m. do not meet this morning.
The power outage impacts buildings from the Cedric Rucker University Center north through the Jepson Science Center. Employees in those buildings should work remotely and work with their supervisor on plans today.
The power outage includes:
- Cedric Rucker University Center
- Willard Hall
- Mercer Hall
- Woodard Hall
- Seacobeck Hall
- Ridderhof Martin Gallery
- duPont, Melchers, and Pollard Halls
- Simpson Library
- Hurley Convergence Center
- Jepson Science Center
The Simpson Library parking lot is closed. UMW is working with the power company to restore service and will communicate updates during the day.
