Timely Warning from UMW Police

At  approximately 2:15 this morning (Sunday), a stabbing and attempted robbery occurred at the intersection of Hanover and Bright streets.  Suspect is at large. Be alert for a slim black male, approximately six feet tall, wearing blue jeans and white T shirt, with semi-afro haircut. This individual ran from the area on foot toward the UMW Battleground Athletic Facility. UMW and Fredericksburg Police are in the area searching for the individual.

Be cautious. Do not approach this individual. Remain aware of your surroundings. Immediately report any sightings or suspicious activity to 911, or contact University Police at 654-1025. The UMW Police also may be reached by dialing x4444, on an on-campus phone. UMW Police maintain direct radio and phone contact with the Fredericksburg Police, 24 hours a day.
