All UMW campuses (Fredericksburg, Stafford, and Dahlgren) will close early at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19 due to winter weather.
Classes in all modalities are cancelled beginning at 3 p.m. on Feb. 19 through the end of the day. Public events are also cancelled through the end of the day.
UMW Dining will share any updates to hours or retail dining options: follow UMW Dining on Facebook or you can join the UMWFoodies by texting 82257. The Post Office on the Fredericksburg Campus and the Copy Center closed at noon today.
Snow emergency parking regulations are in effect beginning at 5 p.m. today, Feb. 19, and include campus road closures at Alvey Drive and Marshall Hall. These parking lots may be accessed from Sunken Road. Please do not park on Double Drive, as Facilities Operations needs this road cleared to access campus.
Employees who can work from home (telework) are expected to do so during inclement weather closures. Those unable to work remotely should contact their supervisor for options. Essential personnel should report at their scheduled time, and if they have any questions, contact their supervisor.
UMW campuses will open with normal operations on Thursday, Feb. 20. Should the weather further impact campus, every effort will be made to post an inclement weather announcement by 6 a.m. on the day of closing or delayed opening. Information is also updated on the University Information Line, which can be reached at (540) 654-2424, and on the UMW advisory page.
Please continue to assess the weather conditions in your location. If you are impacted by ongoing weather and surface conditions, contact your supervisor or instructor to discuss arrangements. For any campus facilities or grounds concerns related to winter conditions, please submit a work order request.
For more winter weather reminders, please see the campus email from Dec. 1, which is also available in Eagle Eye. For more information, please visit https://www.umw.edu/news/information-hotline/.
