Internship Grants Overview
The University has a limited number of grant awards intended to provide support to students pursuing unpaid and low paid internships, particularly unpaid and low paid summer internships. These funds are a result of the generosity of donations from alumni, parents, and friends of the University. Awards typically range from between $500 and $2000 and are intended to provide funding support for eligible students who are participating in a significant unpaid or underfunded internship experience.
Internship Grants cannot be awarded for past internships or current jobs.
Internship grants are competitively awarded through a selection process administered by the Center for Career and Professional Development. The CCPD is responsible for announcing opportunities to students, managing the receipt of applications, and working with institutional sponsors to support the selection and end-of-experience reporting requirements.

The V-TOP Internship Support Grant will be offered during the 2024 – 2025 academic year to help 50 students prepare for Life After MW by providing support for expenses such as transportation, housing, workplace attire, and supplies required for internship participation. This grant is made possible by funding from the Virginia Talent + Opportunity Partnership initiative, which is managed by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia.
