John Marsh holds a Ph.D. in Management (2009), an M.S. in Economics (2005), and a B.S. in Physics (2003) all from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. Dr. Marsh’s dissertation explored ways to integrate theories used to explain mergers and acquisitions using custom statistical methods.
Before joining the University of Mary Washington in the fall of 2013, Dr. Marsh spent four years teaching at The Sage Colleges in Albany, N.Y. where he created a simulation-based investment curriculum, an outcomes assessment program, and was actively involved in the program review and evaluation of several neighboring two and four-year educational institutions. Dr. Marsh has taught classes in Strategic Management, Critical Thinking, Financial Management, Investments, Principles of Management, Introduction to Business, and Statistics.
Dr. Marsh also has an active stream of research exploring how CEOs manage their stock and stock options during mergers and acquisitions.
