Dining Q&A
Where may I get meal plan information?
Please pick up a meal plan brochure at any campus dining location or go to UMW.SodexoMyWay.com. Please note that all first-year residential students are required to purchase the Eagle Dining Plan. Off-campus students may purchase any available meal plans.
How do I purchase or change a meal plan?
First-year residential students will have meal plans assigned. They don’t need to do anything. Off-campus and upper-class students can make meal plan selections or request changes through the Housing portal. Off-campus students should be sure to select the off-campus student option. Meal plan changes can only be made during the first week of classes. For assistance, contact Chris Porter at cjporter@umw.edu.
Can meal plans be used off-campus with UMW’s merchant partners?
No, meal plans may be used only in University Dining facilities. However, merchant partners do accept EagleOne payments. EagleOne is a debit account that you can set up for your student. Contact the EagleOne Card Center for more information.
What are the available dining options?
Restaurants at the Top of the Cedric Rucker University Center offer guests a variety of cuisines in an all-you-care-to-eat dining environment. The cost for students with meal plans is just one “meal swipe”. The daily menus include international cuisines, allergen-free meals, vegan and plant-based dishes, classic home-style meals, plus burgers, pasta, pizza, salads, and desserts. Check out the Guide to Dining on the dining website for more details.
Retail Dining Shoppes – There are several fast-casual dining shoppes on campus where students can grab quick meals or snacks, including Vocelli Pizza, Katora Cafe, Hissho Sushi, Mein Bowl, Panera Bread, and the Simply To Go Market. Using Campus Grubhub, students can also place and pay for orders in advance from every location except the market. The serving hours and menus for the Retail Dining Shoppes can be found on the University Dining website.
Are special diet options available?
Yes! The Top of the CRUC offers vegan, plant-based, and gluten-free options. Simple Servings offers flavorful meals prepared without the most common allergens, which account for 90% of all food allergy reactions. If your student needs to follow a special diet contact Rose Benedict, University Dining Marketing Manager and Dining Concierge, at 540-654-2169 or Dining@UMW.edu for assistance.
What safety protocols are used in University Dining?
Every member of the staff has received extensive training in food safety, and protocols are in place to enable quick and easy adaptations to changing COVID-19 circumstances. Our style of service and safety measures will follow University, CDC, and local directions and guidelines. For additional information, contact Dining@UMW.edu.
