HEERF I: CARES Act Institutional Funding
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act also allocated $1,440,340 in institutional support. UMW used these funds to offset the cost of providing refunds to students for Spring 2020 housing, meal plans and parking fees. HEERF II: CRRSAA Institutional Funding
In January 2021, the University was awarded $3,004,578 in Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act funding (CRRSAA). UMW used these funds to offset the costs of providing refunds to students for Spring 2020 housing, meal plans and parking fees and a portion of Fall 2020 lost housing and dining revenue due to late move-in and early move-out. HEERF III: American Rescue Plan Institutional Funding
In May, 2021, the University was awarded $3,937,806 in Federal funding from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP). UMW intends to a portion use these funds to offset housing and dining revenues lost in fiscal year 2021 due to the shortened residential semester. UMW is still exploring additional uses, including improving HVAC systems in campus housing, vaccine awareness campaigns and additional testing.
