Our University of Mary Washington community has a story to tell, a story about students who study abroad in Spain; about alumni who join the Peace Corps and launch businesses; about faculty who bring Think Labs – and the imagination that comes with them – to middle schools.

What a great opportunity for UMW students—and Jason Robinson has my admiration and respect for what he is bringing to the art dept.! I graduated in 1969 with a studio art degree from UMW, received my masters at VCU and now am adjunct faculty in art foundations and art education at VCU, following many years in arts administration. It is heartening to know that my first alma mater continues to focus on the arts in a progressive way and shares it with alumnae and others. From this story, it appears that current technique and ideas are blending to prepare students for a variety of imagined futures. Kudos to Professor Robinson!
