Ms. Young, originally from Newport News, Virginia, boasts an impressive educational background with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from the University of Mary Washington (UMW). She has lived in the Fredericksburg region since 1998 and has become a vital part of the community.
In her professional role as the Communications and Community Engagement Specialist for Caroline County Public Schools, Ms. Young excels at bridging the gap between the school system and the community. Her duties involve managing public relations, coordinating events, and utilizing various media platforms to enhance the district’s outreach efforts.
Ms. Young is also dedicated to supporting higher education and fostering a vibrant intellectual environment. Since 2019, she has served on the UMW Colloquium Board, contributing her expertise to enrich the academic and cultural discourse at her alma mater.
Her extensive experience in communication and community engagement, along with her academic achievements, make her a respected leader and advocate. Ms. Young’s work positively impacts students, educators, and community members, reflecting her deep commitment to education and community development.
