Bio
Rebecca Purdy has served as Deputy Director for the Central Rappahannock Regional Library (CRRL) system since 2016. She has worked at CRRL in several Youth Services roles, including as Youth Services Coordinator, since graduating from the University of Mary Washington with a Bachelor’s in English and receiving her Master’s of Science in Library and Information Science from The Catholic University of America. Rebecca has served the Virginia Library Association (VLA) in many roles currently as Secretary on the organization’s Executive Committee. She has also served on many American Library Association (ALA) Committees) and was selected for 2018 ALA Leadership Institute. In 2024 Rebecca was accepted to the Leading, Educating, and Developing (LEAD) at the University of Virginia’s Weldon-Cooper Center. Rebecca is active in other community organizations and has served as Secretary on the Executive Committee for Smart Beginnings Ready Regions and on the Foundation Board for Stafford Rotary. She has also served on the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce´s Network of Enterprising Women, and was a 2020 Leadership Fredericksburg Fellow with the Chamber.
