Elizabeth Franklin Lewis, Professor of Spanish, holds her B.A. in Spanish from Auburn University, and her M.A. and PhD. in Spanish literature from the University of Virginia, with a specialty in women writers and gender in 18th- and 19th-century Spain. Her most recent book is the Routledge Companion to the Hispanic Enlightenment, edited with Monica Bolufer and Catherine Jaffe (Routledge 2019). In her role as Assistant Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Lewis promotes undergraduate research and other learning experiences for students beyond the classroom.
