Corporate whistleblower and bestselling author Cynthia Cooper will present the keynote lecture at the 20th annual Leadership Colloquium at the University of Mary Washington. The conference, centered on the theme, “real women, real issues, real solutions,” will take place at UMW’s Stafford campus from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 7 followed by a reception at 4:30 p.m.
Cooper was named one of Time Magazine’s Persons of the Year in 2002 after unraveling one of the largest corporate frauds in history at WorldCom, Her book “Extraordinary Circumstances: The Journey of a Corporate Whistleblower” details her role as vice president of WorldCom’s internal audit department and the Wall Street giant’s eventual demise. She is CEO of management consulting firm The CooperGroup, LLC.
The colloquium also will include interactive labs on personal branding, personalized strategic planning, and networking. Laptops or tablets are highly recommended for this interactive event and a photographer will be on hand to take professional head shots.
