Jan Fox, an Emmy-award winning speaker, will give the keynote lecture at the 22nd annual Leadership Colloquium at the University of Mary Washington. The conference, centered on the theme, “real women, real issues, real solutions,” will take place at UMW’s Stafford campus from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 5.
Throughout her career, Fox worked with ABC and NBC, before becoming a CBS TV reporter. During that time, she earned an impressive count of four Emmy Awards, which led to her success as a speech coach with her own company, Fox Talks. Using a “Power of Tweaks” process, Fox coaches people on their speaking and presentation skills.
As a speech coach, Fox also has worked with CEO groups, focusing on lessons learned from her own experiences.
“Jan’s coaching changed the culture of our company,”former Oman Air CEO Peter Hill said of one of her sessions. “We speak like leaders. Now our people can follow.”
The colloquium also will feature a number of seminars throughout the day.
The registration fee, ($179 for registrants before Oct. 1, $199 from Oct. 1 to 31, and $219 from Nov. 1 to 6) includes breakfast, a buffet luncheon, afternoon tea, a reception, and all sessions, forums, and materials. For more information or to register, visit umw.edu/lcpw.
