All semester, students from a variety of disciplines have been working toward showing off their finished products at the end of the year. On April 22, they will get their chance at this year’s Research and Creativity Day.

UMW’s Research and Creativity Day is an annual event that serves as a day of celebration for students to present or perform in the culmination of their semester. The all-day event will feature entertaining and educational exhibits for students and community members to observe.
“This program was established in order to celebrate and showcase the independent research and creative work that our students engage in throughout the academic year,” said Grant Woodwell, associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. “It is a great opportunity to see the diverse work and projects that are carried out at UMW. “
The full program, which is available online, will feature 80 posters of student work in the HCC from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Graduate students from the College of Education will present in Trinkle Hall throughout the day.
From 1:15 p.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a live performance of original music compositions in the Digital Auditorium. In the DuPont gallery, prize-winning student artwork will be on display throughout the day. The College of Business also will host a screening of student-created videos that were part of the Virginia 21 Get Out the Vote campaign.
Also participating in the symposium will be the College of Business, the Department of History and American Studies, the English Department and the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures.
