A little overcast and a few sprinkles couldn’t dampen the colorful spirit of the University of Mary Washington’s Multicultural Fair this past Saturday. Thousands turned out to the 29th annual event, designed to promote awareness of cultures across the globe.
The weather forced entertainment, crafts, vendors and children’s entertainment inside various buildings, including George Washington and Monroe halls, and the University Center, while food trucks kept their spots around Ball Circle.
“Even though we had to move the majority of the activities and performances for the Fair indoors due to the weather,” said James Farmer Multicultural Center Director Marion Sanford. “It was an amazing day that lived up to the mission and tradition of the Fair – celebrating the beautiful ethnicities, heritages and customs that make our campus and region so rich and vibrant.”
