“John brings significant institutional knowledge, integrity and personality to the position,” said Harper. “I am confident that we will make an awesome team.”
After previously serving as a tenured faculty member at James Madison University and Simpson College in Iowa, Morello came to Mary Washington in 1989 as associate professor of speech and director of the debate program. He has been member and chair of many committees involving the operation and academic development of the university.
In 1993, Morello was honored with the Alumni Association’s Outstanding Young Faculty Member Award and a year later was named a Jepson Fellow, given to a faculty member who has served Mary Washington with distinction.
