The University of Mary Washington Philharmonic will host its annual masterworks concert on Saturday, Oct. 22.
Featuring 19th century classics, the concert will include performances of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 “Eroica,” Jean Sibelius’ Finlandia and Bedrich Smetana’s The Moldau. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. in George Washington Hall’s Dodd Auditorium. Tickets are $25 for VIP seats and $15 for general admission.
“All three works are historically important and popular amongst audiences,” said Kevin Bartram, director of the orchestra. “Beethoven’s Eroica Symphony is deemed by historians as one of the most significant works in music history.”
The Philharmonic will continue its season by hosting legendary singer Tony Bennett on Friday, Dec. 9 in and Broadway actress Kristin Chenoweth on Saturday, March 18. Tickets for the Tony Bennett performance are also available online.
