The University of Mary Washington will hold its fourth annual athletics gala on Saturday, May 20, to benefit UMW Athletics.
The event will be held at the Chandler Ballroom in the University Center. A cocktail hour and silent auction bidding will begin at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and a program. A live auction will begin at 9:30.
The cost is $130 for an individual seat or $1,000 for a table of 10. A portion of each ticket purchase is tax deductible.
The gala will feature keynote speaker and UMW President Dr. Troy D. Paino. A passionate sports fan, Dr. Paino has written extensively on the history of American sports and is frequently in the stands cheering on the Eagles. During the gala, senior student-athletes will share their inspiring testimonials.
The live auction will feature a “FedEx Fantasy,” which includes luxury box suite tickets to a Washington Redskins game; a “Grand Summit Getaway,” including two nights on Mt. Snow, Vermont, with lift tickets; and an “Island Beachfront Break,” including two nights at the Hilton Head Sonesta Resort.
The University of Mary Washington Dining Services by Sodexo is the gala’s primary sponsor. Other sponsors include the City of Fredericksburg, Stafford Printing and Union Bank & Trust.
