In accordance with the federal Clery Act, this notice is being sent as a timely warning from The University of Mary Washington Police Department:
At 4:10 p.m. today, Monday, April 16, a robbery attempt occurred in front of UMW Apartments, Building #1, on William Street. A white male approached a female student from behind and demanded “give me your shoes.” The student ran into an apartment building. The suspect was seen getting into a white car that was parked in the UMW William Street Parking Lot. The vehicle was last seen exiting the William Street exit headed towards Route 3. No further details were available about the vehicle’s make, model or license number.
The suspect is described as being between 25 to 30 years of age, with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a blue sweat shirt and yellow bandana. No weapons were seen or believed to have been involved.
