The Military-Related Student Transfer Credits policy was approved February 21, 2014. The purpose of the policy is to provide flexibility for students in regard to the award of credit for military education and training and will help to increase degree completion among this population. Students who have served in the armed forces, or who continue to serve while enrolled in a higher education program, are particularly reliant upon the flexible transfer of credits because many of those completing a degree do not do so at the institution at which they first enrolled. This policy also provides clarity regarding UMW’s procedures for awarding credit for the military-related student’s prior military service, learning, and experience.
You will find the policy in Book D, Academic Affairs, under Section 5, Registrar.
