Non-graduating residents who need to remain on campus past 10 AM on Saturday, May 3rd must receive approval for extended stay by completing the Extended Stay Request Form due on Friday, April 18th. Submitting the form does not guarantee approval. Residence Life and Housing will review all requests and send out decisions via email before finals week.
If your request for extended stay is not approved, you will be held to the expectation that you follow closing procedures and vacate your residence hall before they close at 10 AM on Saturday, May 3rd.
The summer months are when many facilities projects happen in the residence halls. Therefore, if you request extended stay, you must be available to potentially move your belongings to a temporary space until you depart campus or move to your summer housing assignment between May 5th and May 16th.
Extended stay is outside of the contracted meal plan period. Campus meal service on a pay-per-use basis may or may not be available as the campus dining options are not always open throughout the extended stay period.
If you are approved for extended stay, transitioning to summer housing, or a graduating senior, you will still need to check-out with an RA in person before turning in your spring room key.
Graduating seniors are approved to stay on campus through senior week and must vacate their residence hall and follow all closing procedures by 10 AM on Sunday, May 11th.
Summer residents should request extended stay if they are not completely moving out of their space between the spring and summer semesters. Summer residents approved for extended stay will be contacted no later than May 16th with instructions to begin moving into Eagle Landing once their summer room assignment is ready for move-in.
